Vaginal surgery is a broader term used for number of different surgeries. Main purpose of each surgery varies from surgery to surgery. But in general it involves reconstruction or repair of the vagina. The purpose of these surgeries is to improve the sensitivity, shape and appearance of vagina.

All the women whose vaginal area has been altered due to different reason are candidate for vaginal surgery. In general patients who have extensive cancer surgeries, vaginal wall prolapse, physical trauma due accident or physical activity, congenital abnormalities (birth defects), pain during sexual activity, diminished feel of sexual activity after child birth or desire to improve the feel to intercourse.
