In general doctors consider a couple infertile if they are not able to get pregnant with in one year of marriage, and if the age of female is more than 35 years then this period is six months. Fertility has two types. One is Primary Infertility and other one is Secondary Infertility. If a woman never gets pregnant after one year, then its primary Infertility. Secondary Infertility occurs when a woman cannot get again pregnant after first successful pregnancy.

But in general 1 in 3 infertile women have problem with their reproductive system, 1 in 3 infertile men have problem with their reproductive system and 1 in 3 couples have problems that effect both of them.

Female infertility can be diagonosed with the help of Pelvic exam, Blood test, Transvaginal ultrasound, Hysteroscopy, Saline sonohysterogram (SIS), Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) or Laparoscopy. Male infertility can be diagnosed with the help of semen analysis, Blood test, Scrotal Ultrasound.
